Ground mica is thousands of separate platelets, each lying at its own angle. Nothing shares a grain with its neighbour, so the surface shimmers rather than forming one highlight — it glows instead of glittering, because no single flake is large enough to read on its own. A cold can carries that structure twice. Condensation freezes into thousands of separate crystals, each nucleated where it landed and each facing its own way; and the can beneath is printed in inks loaded with the same mineral, which is where its faint pearl comes from.
